Bristol’s very own poetry revue invites the region’s wordsmiths to perform in our quirky cocktail bar. This month featuring:

David Punter is a poet who has published five small volumes of his work, and appeared in a wide variety of magazines including PN Review,Encounter, Outposts and Thames Poetry. He performs regularly with two other poets and two jazz musicians as Echoes and Edges, and will be appearing this year at the Cheltenham and Ledbury Festivals. On this occasion he will be reading mainly from his recently published pamphlet Bristol: 21 Poems.

Emma Stadon has recently published her own pamphlet of poems; she writes with eloquence and unflinching honesty.

Jonathan Bradley has recently published Papiliones – featuring poems about butterflies. He writes ‘There is poetry everywhere in the natural world, but for me nowhere more so than in butterflies. What is poetic about butterflies? Poetry is a heightened form of writing that plays on our emotions and imagination. Poems use imagery, beautiful or expressive words, rhythms, rhymes and sounds that encourage us to see the world a little differently, as if through a lens. At their best, poems inspire an intensity of perception that changes the way we think and feel.’

There will be some excellent music – superb original songs from Priscilla Andersohn.
