Novel Nights is a monthly literary event with guest speakers and readings by local talent. We provide literary chat, stories, discussion and inspiration for writers and readers.

This month, Novel Nights welcomes Dr Mimi Thebo, who will discuss writing memoirs and autobiographies. Hospital High, her latest novel for young adults, is based on the author’s experience of a traumatic teen car accident and lengthy hospitalisation and recovery.

Mimi Thebo is a Carnegie-nominated author for children and adults. Her work carries messages of hope, resilience and recovery, and her writing has been called ‘spare but poetic’ and ‘heartbreakingly beautiful’. She is a Reader in Creative Writing at the University of Bristol and is designing a new MA in Creative Writing for the University.
