All theatre practitioners bring vulnerabilities into the rehearsal room. The solution is to discover the meaning of theatre. This workshop is for those people who want to discover (or re-discover) the meaning of theatrical art, putting drama into practise.

This workshop will consist of small exercises that teach you how to discover meaning in dramatic text, and how these meanings can be used as defence against the sensation of vulnerability while performing.

Each session, you’ll read a short play text, discuss and analyse it. Then you’ll rehearse it, as if preparing for a performance. We’ll work through many different activities but none of them is obligatory. If you want to sit something out, that’s fine. Zero embarrassment, zero pressure and zero competition.
