Net zero means that a business has cut greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 90% in line with the latest climate science to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Any remaining unavoidable emissions (known as residual carbon) are then reabsorbed from the atmosphere through carbon removal projects such as native woodland and habitat creation.
