With live music and poetry from some fantastic talent from the South West, it’s shaping up to be a must-see event on the Music and Poetry calendar.

Each performer will provide 10 to 12 minutes of their latest work.

Arrive at The Square Club for 19:30 for the event starting at 20:00. Drinks are available all evening from our lower deck cocktail bar.

General tickets are £5, concessions are £2, and this is to be paid on the door in cash.

Bob Walton is a celebrated Welsh poet who has inspired and supported generations of poets in Bristol and beyond. Known for his warmth, craft and generosity, Bob has been somewhat quieter on the scene in recent years — and we’re delighted to welcome him back to the stage.

Bertel Martin is not only a fine poet, but a longstanding champion of Bristol’s creative community. He has mentored and supported artists at every stage of their careers, from project proposals and funding applications to work across literature and theatre. His own poems crackle with life, humour and a keen sense of the real.

And from Cardiff, Emily Cotterill brings a distinctly contemporary voice. Her debut pamphlet, The Day of the Flying Ants, has been described as ‘neo-punk’, ‘Northern soul’ and ‘fizzingly acute’, while her first full collection, Significant Wow, further establishes her as an exciting voice in contemporary poetry.
