In 2017 Cian Murphy’s work was on the long list of the Cinnamon Press Pamphlet Competition. It has also been long-listed (2017) and Commended (2018) in the Munster Literature Centre Fool for Poetry Competition. This year it was long-listed for the Anthony Cronin International Poetry Award and was chosen for Eyewear Publishing’s Best New British & Irish Poets 2018.
Marie Ellis grew up in the flat, expansive plains of the Midwestern U.S. And this provided a lot of time and space to create. It was in that fertile soil that the seeds of who she is today were planted: poet, performer, writer, journalist. After living in parts of California and Berlin, Marie settled in Brighton in 2010 and just recently moved to Bristol. Her poetic style in three words: political, empirical, lyrical.
Avellana work through jazz classics , original modern works and other experiments in jazz wonderment.
